Trieste marks the Feast of San Giusto and key historic anniversaries with a series of ceremonies this week. This Monday, November 3, a solemn mass was held at the Cathedral, which will be followed by commemorations for the 107th anniversary of Trieste’s return to Italy, featuring military honors and wreath-laying in Piazza Unità d’Italia today at 4.30 pm.
On Tuesday, the city will take part in National Unity and Armed Forces Day events, including ceremonies at the Redipuglia Military Memorial. And on Wednesday, a memorial mass at Sant’Antonio Nuovo will honor civilians killed in the 1953 unrest. Local leaders and civic groups are expected to attend throughout the week.
