Ghosts and goblins may roam city streets on Halloween, but at the Immaginario Scientifico, the frights will be grounded in physics, chemistry and a spark of imagination.
On Friday, Oct. 31, the interactive science museum at Magazzino 26 in Trieste’s Porto Vecchio district will extend its opening hours until 8 p.m., offering families and curious visitors a “scientific Halloween” filled with eerie experiments and hands-on demonstrations.
Throughout the evening, at 5, 6 and 7 p.m., museum educators will present The Scary Science Show, a series of live demonstrations featuring bubbling reactions, surprising chemical transformations and theatrically spooky effects designed to show the mysterious — and sometimes hair-raising — side of scientific discovery.
The event is included in the regular price of admission and requires no reservation. Organizers say the activities are suitable for all ages, aiming to combine seasonal fun with educational exploration in a playful atmosphere.
With its blend of spectacle and learning, the museum hopes to offer an alternative way to celebrate Halloween — one where curiosity is the most important costume.
