The Regional Civil Protection Authority has issued a yellow weather alert for the coastal and eastern areas of Friuli Venezia Giulia, citing hydrological and hydraulic risks. The alert will be in effect from midnight on Friday, October 4, through 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, as a cold front approaches from the north.

The incoming front is expected to bring a sharp deterioration in weather conditions, with strong Bora winds along the coast and in Trieste, where gusts could exceed 100 kilometers per hour. Sustained winds are also forecast at higher elevations, with moderate gusts from the north or northeast reaching the upper plains.

Rainfall is expected to intensify in the first half of Saturday, ranging from moderate to heavy across much of the region, and particularly intense in the Isontino area, the lagoon belt, the Karst plateau, and Trieste. Coastal areas between Grado and Lignano could experience rough seas and possible storm surges, authorities warned.

The Civil Protection Department advises residents to exercise caution and monitor updates as conditions evolve.
