This Saturday, the Parco di San Giovanni will host a unique intersection of music and visual arts as part of the itinerant regional festival Palchi nei Parchi, organized by the Friuli Venezia Giulia (FVG) Region’s Forest Service with the artistic direction of the Fondazione Luigi Bon. The series, which has traveled across parks throughout the region all summer, spotlights ten new works inspired by ten masterpieces of contemporary art.

At 6:30 p.m., the park’s outdoor area near the Teatrino Franca e Franco Basaglia will resonate with Canvas Melodies, the debut album of Udine-born double bassist Alessio Zoratto. Released in 2024 on CD, vinyl, and digital platforms, Zoratto’s work reflects a fearless embrace of experimentation. Drawing from Dadaism, Expressionism, Abstract art, and other twentieth-century movements, his compositions trace the personal and societal experiences that have shaped his life: the memory of past and present loves, the absence of those who have passed, the anguish of a world in constant conflict, and moments of joy.

Zoratto will be joined by Giovanni Perin on vibraphone, Luca Zennaro on guitar, Luca Colussi on drums, and special guest Francesco Bearzatti on saxophone, in a program that fuses contemporary jazz with influences from rock and experimental music.

The concert is presented in collaboration with ERPAC FVG, SimulArte Società Cooperativa, and FIAB. Before the performance, regional expert Ruggero Sandri from ERSA FVG will offer insights on phytosanitary controls for goods imported into the European Union. In the event of rain, the concert will move indoors to the Teatro.

For cycling enthusiasts, a guided bike excursion organized by Fiab Trieste Ulisse will also be available. Interested participants can contact info@ulisse-fiab.org for details.
