The city of Trieste continues its annual Trieste Estate summer festival with a series of free performances at the Giardino del Museo Sartorio, highlighting music, theater, and cultural storytelling from August 25 through 31. The festival, organized by the Comune di Trieste with the support of PromoTurismoFVG and the Trieste Convention & Visitors Bureau, aims to showcase the city’s cultural heritage and contemporary artistic scene.

The week opens Monday, August 25, with “Io sono moltitudine”, part of Festil – Festival Estivo del Litorale, curated by Associazione Culturale Tinaos. The production combines music and narration to explore European cities and history, starting from Gorizia and drawing parallels to other European cities, including Krakow, Vienna, and Ljubljana, through theatrical storytelling and musical interpretation.

On Tuesday, August 26, “Assaje, e po’ bon!”, presented by Dedalo APS, brings together the traditions of Trieste and Naples through a mix of prose, poetry, and live music. Performers Raffaele Sincovich and Sara Cechet Woodcock, accompanied by a musician and small vocal ensemble, explore the shared cultural and historical connections between the two cities.

Wednesday, August 27, features “O Roma o Morte, perché Roma si legge anche Amor”, a theatrical-musical performance by La Macchina del Testo that traces Roman songs from 1849 to the present day, highlighting the city’s musical heritage through piano and vocal performance.

Thursday, August 28, offers “L’amore è una cosa meravigliosa?”, by Associazione ArteFatto. The show follows a woman who receives a personalized musical performance from a man she met online, blending music, poetry, and theatrical storytelling to explore the stages of romantic relationships.

On Friday, August 29, the Accademia Lirica Santa Croce di Trieste presents “Sogni e melodie della Belle Epoque! Un viaggio musicale nella Mitteleuropa”, a concert of operettas from the Belle Époque period. The performance features the Arcobaleno Wind Orchestra, the academy’s choir, and pianist Fabio Zanin, offering a journey through the musical elegance of early 20th-century Central Europe.

Saturday, August 30, features “La stanza delle anime – Le donne della Divina Commedia oggi”, by Compagnia di Arti e Mestieri. The theatrical production reinterprets historical female figures, connecting their experiences with modern women and the characters of Dante’s Divine Comedy.

The festival concludes Sunday, August 31, with a performance by Trieste-based progressive rock band Judy Lee. Formed in 1991, the band presents a mix of blues, jazz, rock, and funk, performed in Italian, English, and the Triestine dialect, joined by guest musicians for a special evening of live music.

All events are free and begin at 9 p.m., except for Friday’s concert, which starts at 8 p.m. Attendees are advised to check the festival website for updates in case of inclement weather.
