Trenitalia announced that from the evening of Wednesday, August 13, through the early morning of Friday, August 15, rail services in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region will experience temporary changes. The modifications are necessary to carry out technological and infrastructural upgrades at Bivio d’Aurisina station.

Between 10:30 p.m. on August 13 and 6:00 a.m. on August 15, train operations on the Trieste-Udine, Trieste-Venice, and Trieste-Villa Opicina lines will be partially suspended. Several regional trains between Monfalcone and Trieste will be canceled during this period.

Travelers are advised that alternative transportation will be provided, including replacement bus services, which will be accessible with standard Trenitalia tickets. Passengers may also use unaffected trains on the network. However, bus travel times may be longer due to road traffic conditions, and seating capacity on buses may be limited compared to usual train services.

Passengers should note that bicycles are not permitted on the replacement buses, and animals are only allowed if they are guide dogs.

Trenitalia has updated its ticketing platforms to reflect the revised schedules and bus service details. Customers are encouraged to check the latest travel information through Trenitalia’s official website, mobile app, or customer service channels before their journey. Notifications about service changes will also be sent via email or SMS to those holding digital regional tickets.

Further information is available on the Trenitalia website under the “Infomobilità” section, via the Trenitalia app’s personalized Smart Caring service, or by calling the free customer service number at 800 89 20 21.

For more detailed guidance on traveling during service disruptions, Trenitalia promotes the “Choose to Travel Informed” campaign available online.
