The Friuli Venezia Giulia regional government has officially clarified that nearly €9.9 million allocated for local public transportation have already been fully disbursed as of January 2025, refuting recent local media reports suggesting delays due to pending regional directives.

Cristina Amirante, the regional councilor for infrastructure, responded to the allegations by emphasizing that the funds—including over €1.2 million designated for Atap S.p.A.—were made available through a regional decree earlier this year.

Amirante highlighted a July 4 official communication from the region, which explicitly stated that no regional authorization is required for finalizing union agreements or for the distribution of these extraordinary contributions. She further noted that no guidelines have ever been requested or issued to regulate such agreements.

Confirming the region’s commitment to a swift use of the funds, Amirante indicated that the regional government is currently seeking updates from Tpl FVG, the regional public transport authority, regarding ongoing activities and anticipated timelines. She reminded that financial reporting is due within 24 months from the decree dated January 30, 2025.
