Despite persistent weekend rain, locals across Friuli Venezia Giulia found creative ways to enjoy themselves. In Trieste, the region’s capital, we spoke with residents who braved the gray skies for walks along the waterfront, cozy café chats, and museum visits.

Love was in the air, too—two couples tied the knot on Saturday, undeterred by the drizzle. One bride, Mara, smiled through the showers, calling the day “unforgettable.” The weather may have been gloomy, but the region’s spirit remained bright, proving that joy in Friuli Venezia Giulia doesn’t depend on sunshine.
