A mild earthquake shook the Friuli part of the region late Monday night, the country’s Civil Protection Department reported.
The tremor, which occurred at 10:52 p.m. local time on July 21, registered a magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was located approximately two kilometers west of the town of Verzegnis, in the mountainous Carnia area.
According to officials, the earthquake originated at a depth of four kilometers and was felt clearly in several parts of the region. No damage to buildings or infrastructure has been reported, and there are no known injuries.
Italy, situated along several active fault lines, experiences frequent seismic activity, particularly in its central and northern regions. Local authorities continue to monitor the situation.
