A vibrant mix of music and film will mark the upcoming events of Trieste Estate 2025, the city’s summer cultural program, with highlights scheduled from July 8 through July 10. Among the standout events is a jazz evening at the garden of the Sartorio Museum on Tuesday, July 8, beginning at 9 p.m. Admission is free.
The concert is part of the TriesteLovesJazz festival and will feature Fausto e Serse, a project uniting two acclaimed figures in the international music scene: Sergio Cossu and Fausto Beccalossi. Cossu, a pianist, composer, producer, and former member of the iconic Italian band Matia Bazar (1984–1999), is also the founder of the Blue Serge music label. Beccalossi, a celebrated accordionist, has collaborated with jazz legends such as Enrico Rava, Kenny Wheeler, Paolo Fresu, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, and was a longtime touring member of Al Di Meola’s ensemble.
Their collaboration, Fausto e Serse, is both a play on their first names and a tribute to post-war Italian cycling icons Fausto and Serse Coppi. The performance promises a unique blend of musical dialogue and narrative inspiration, bringing together decades of experience across jazz, classical, and world music traditions.
Further events in the Trieste Estate 2025 calendar, including film screenings and other performances, are expected to draw both local residents and visitors into the city’s public spaces for a celebration of high-quality culture throughout the summer.
