Il Giardino del Cinema, Trieste’s popular open-air summer film series, has revealed the title of its previously unannounced screening scheduled for Friday, June 27: Pulp Fiction, Quentin Tarantino’s landmark 1994 film, will be shown in a newly restored version.

The screening promises to offer local audiences the rare opportunity to revisit the cult classic on the big screen. Tarantino’s nonlinear narrative, razor-sharp dialogue, and blend of dark humor and stylized violence helped redefine independent cinema in the 1990s and propelled the director to international fame following his debut with Reservoir Dogs.

The film, which runs 154 minutes, features an ensemble cast including John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Amanda Plummer, Christopher Walken, and Steve Buscemi.

Nearly three decades after its release, Pulp Fiction remains one of the most quoted and influential films of its era. With characters like hitmen Vincent Vega (Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Jackson), mob wife Mia Wallace (Thurman), and the unflappable fixer Winston Wolf (Keitel), the film has left an indelible mark on popular culture.

For many, Friday’s screening will be a nostalgic return to a film that helped shape modern cinema. From the unforgettable dance scene set to Chuck Berry’s “You Never Can Tell” to the film’s fragmented storytelling, Pulp Fiction continues to captivate new generations of viewers.

The event is part of Il Giardino del Cinema’s summer-long program of outdoor screenings, which aims to bring classic and contemporary films to the community in a relaxed, under-the-stars setting.
