Interview: FVG councilor for labor activities, Alessia Rosolen
Nearly 500 people have secured employment in 2024 thanks to a series of recruitment events organized by the regional government of Friuli Venezia Giulia, officials announced on Wednesday. The “Recruiting Day” initiative, designed to connect job seekers with local businesses, has shown measurable results and is being positioned as a key tool in regional labor policy.
According to regional labor commissioner Alessia Rosolen, 488 individuals were hired by companies operating in the region following their participation in the events. “These initiatives are a strategic instrument that complements the daily work of employment centers and business consulting services,” Rosolen said during a press conference in Trieste. She emphasized that, unlike in other Italian regions, Friuli Venezia Giulia offers these services on a structural basis, and has steadily expanded them in recent years.
The results presented cover data from 28 of the 39 Recruiting Day events held in the region so far this year—a notable increase from 2023, marking the highest number of such events in five years.
Organized in response to interest from 293 companies and four employment agencies, the events attracted 12,794 job applications from over 7,000 candidates. The initiative continues to evolve, reflecting growing demand from the regional labor market and an effort to reduce the mismatch between job supply and demand.
Officials noted that the events not only help fill vacancies, but also serve as a bridge between job seekers and employers, offering immediate feedback and streamlined hiring processes.
More detailed outcomes from the full calendar year are expected to be released later in 2025.
