This weekend, the Stelio Mattioni Municipal Library in Borgo San Sergio, Trieste, will transform into a vibrant hub for fans of comics, gaming, and cosplay with the return of Borgo Cosplay. Scheduled for Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29, the event marks its second edition following a successful debut in 2024.
Hosted by the City of Trieste and curated by the cultural association La Cappella Underground, Borgo Cosplay builds on the library’s reputation as a local center for comic book culture. Located at Via Laura Silvano Petracco 10, the library boasts one of the city’s largest collections of graphic novels and comic books, making it a fitting venue for the celebration.
This year’s program includes a cosplay parade, comic workshops, panels on video games, tabletop and role-playing games, talks, live performances, an art exhibit of comic illustrations, short film screenings, street food, and a creative market showcasing local artisans and pop culture-inspired merchandise.
The event is free and open to the public, though registration is required for select activities such as children’s comic workshops, role-playing game demos, and cosplay-focused sessions. Bookings can be made on the official website: www.lacappellaunderground.org/borgocosplay.
