On Saturday, June 21, 2025, the summer solstice will be marked with a celebration of culture, cuisine, and music atop the panoramic terrace of Ca’ da l’Agnola, nestled in the San Rocco area of Forgaria nel Friuli, a small town in Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The event, held under the patronage of the Folkest Festival, promises an immersive evening of global flavors and traditional folk sounds set against the scenic backdrop of the Friulian hills.
The evening will begin at 7:30 p.m. with La Cena delle Tradizioni dal Mondo (“The Dinner of World Traditions”), a six-course culinary experience created by local residents with roots in various countries. Designed as a multicultural journey through traditional recipes, the dinner will feature dishes such as choripán with chimichurri sauce from Argentina, mini shepherd’s pie from the United Kingdom, Moroccan couscous, Romanian desserts like prajitura pufoasa and amandine, Sicilian caponata, and Ukrainian green borscht.
Seating is limited, and reservations are required via an online form (https://forms.gle/Wi1VSLDE8Hw2rf3M6). Additional details are available by contacting the organizers at prolocoforgaria@gmail.com.
Following dinner, at 9:30 p.m., the evening will continue with a live folk music performance, further emphasizing the event’s commitment to celebrating cultural diversity through artistic expression. Organized as part of the wider Folkest initiative, the celebration aims to bring communities together through shared traditions and the universal language of music.
