On Sunday, June 15, a special guided tour of the Castelletto and a walk through the grounds of Miramare Park will mark the 70th anniversary of the Historical Museum and Park of Miramare Castle, inaugurated on June 2, 1955.

The event, scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., is part of a broader effort to celebrate and promote the area’s rich historical, cultural, natural, and landscape heritage. Organized jointly by the park administration and the WWF-managed Marine Protected Area, the initiative aims to highlight the unique combination of ecosystems and cultural landmarks that make Miramare a site of national and international significance.

The tour will begin at the Castelletto, a smaller building within the park grounds, and will be followed by a nature walk led by a WWF botanist. Participants will explore the park’s natural features and discuss its role as the core of a UNESCO-designated Biosphere Reserve, recognized for its commitment to balancing human activity and environmental preservation.

The event will conclude at Piazzale Duca d’Aosta, where visitors can view Davide Rivalta’s monumental gorilla sculpture, currently on display as part of the contemporary art exhibition “Naturae. Environments of Contemporary Art,” hosted at the castle’s stables through November 9.

The initiative is free of charge but requires advance registration due to limited capacity. Interested participants are asked to reserve by emailing info@ampmiramare.it no later than 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13. Confirmation will be sent by the event organizers. The tour is open to adults and families with children aged 10 and up.
