A storm system moving through the region will bring wet and wintry weather to Friuli Venezia Giulia over the next few days, with snow at higher altitudes and moderate rain along the coast. The unsettled conditions are caused by an approaching depression that will draw in humid southwesterly winds.

On Wednesday, a fast-moving Atlantic front will sweep through the area during the central hours of the day. This will be followed by continued southwesterly winds on Wednesday, leading to a mix of rain and snow. The coastal areas can expect light to moderate rain, while the upper plain and pre-Alpine regions may see more substantial rainfall, with some areas experiencing intense downpours.

Snow will begin at altitudes of 800 to 1000 meters, rising to 1200 to 1400 meters in the inland areas and 1400 to 1600 meters in the Pre-Alps. The Julian Alps and the eastern Carnia region may see heavy snow at high altitudes, and there is a chance of thunderstorms as well.

By the afternoon, precipitation will begin to ease, and rain will taper off by evening. Moderate south to southwest winds will continue along the coast and in the mountains, with the possibility of fog or mist developing in the evening, especially in the plains.

Residents are advised to prepare for a wet and snowy day on Wednesday, with conditions improving by the evening but still remaining cool. The approaching weather patterns underscore the changeable nature of winter weather in the region, especially at higher altitudes.
