The Friuli Venezia Giulia region rang in the New Year with joyful cries in its maternity wards. As the clock ushered in 2025, four newborns arrived to mark the start of a fresh chapter: Inaia, Victoria, Marta, and Vittoria.

The Monfalcone obstetrics department emerged as a hub of celebration, welcoming three of the region’s first babies shortly after midnight, with a fourth following in the early hours of the morning.

Leading the New Year’s arrivals was Inaia Rahman, a baby boy born at 1:51 AM. Weighing nearly three kilograms, Inaia’s swift arrival set the tone for a night of new beginnings. Just over an hour later, at 3:12 AM, the region’s second baby was born at Trieste’s renowned Burlo Garofolo hospital. The baby girl, Victoria Adél, tipped the scales at 3.12 kilograms.

The spotlight returned to Monfalcone as morning broke. Marta made her debut at 7:30 AM, followed by Vittoria at 8:05 AM. Both births brought continued joy to a hospital staff already buoyed by the night’s flurry of activity.

Elsewhere in Friuli Venezia Giulia, it was a quieter start to 2025, with no additional births reported overnight in other maternity wards.
