The second edition of the Korenine/Radici project is transforming the Friuli Venezia Giulia region into a cultural haven where art, history, and local production meet. Organized by Teatro Stabile La Contrada of Trieste, the initiative seeks to blend creativity with tradition, celebrating the region’s rich heritage through a series of immersive events.

Set to take place from September 13 to 15, the project centers around scenic walks through olive groves, combining theatrical readings, live music, dance, and tastings of local olive oil and wine. Led by actress Elena Husu, the performances feature texts in both Italian and Slovenian, honoring the area’s dual heritage. The events will take place in the olive groves of local producers Lenardon in Muggia, Kocjančič in Dolina, and FiorRosso in Aquilinia.

Supported by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and local cultural organizations, Korenine/Radici aims to foster innovation by connecting the arts with local industry. In addition to the performances, workshops for schools and educational events will run through October, promoting a deeper understanding of the region’s cultural and natural landscape.

All events are free and open to the public.

Event Schedule:

  • September 13-15, 5:30 PM: Walks and performances in olive groves across Trieste province.
