Authorities in Trieste have issued a warning that elevated levels of ozone pollution will continue to affect the city through Thursday, August 15. This alert is based on recent forecasts from ARPA-FVG, the regional environmental agency, which indicate that current high ozone concentrations will persist for several days.

The advisory, issued in accordance with the city’s Municipal Action Plan, highlights that ozone levels have surpassed the 120 µg/m³ threshold, which signals a period of heightened concern. Residents are advised to be particularly cautious, especially those in sensitive groups, including children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory conditions.

In response to the ongoing pollution, the local health authority has recommended that citizens take preventive measures to minimize exposure. These measures are detailed in a previous notice from the Triestina Health Authority, originally issued on January 3, 2013.

Authorities urge the public to stay informed through official channels and follow the recommended precautions to protect their health during this period of elevated ozone levels.
