The Rossetti theater released their big news on Monday – the announcement of the first ever Italian premier of “Les Miserables” coming to the Trieste’s theater 7-11 November, 2024.

The Rossetti – Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia announces the Italian premiere of one of the most acclaimed shows by spectators from all over the world. For the first time in its history, the international tour of Les Misérables makes a stop in Italy, in the magnificent Rossetti theater.

LES MISÉRABLES THE ARENA MUSICAL SPECTACULAR is an extraordinary representation that brings Victor Hugo’s famous work to the stage, a compelling tale of dreams, loves, passion, sacrifice and redemption. A timeless story of the survival of the human spirit. With a magnificent soundtrack of unforgettable songs including “I Dreamed a Dream”, “On My Own”, “Bring Him Home”, “One Day More”, this show is indisputably one of the world’s favorite musicals.

The musical was presented by Sir Cameron Mackintosh, producer of the greatest international musicals such as “Cats”. And just like “Les Miserables”, the longest-running musical in the world, performed in 53 countries and 439 cities around the world, now in its 39th year. When asked about the reasons for this success, Sir Mackintosh replies that: “Only God knows” – “Only God knows. You never know what, in a show, wins the hearts of the audience”. The show is beautiful to watch – he adds -, it is incredibly spectacular and the heart of the story is the future. The essence of the show is about today and the future.”

“It’s an incredible opportunity for the Italian theater,” added Francesco Granbassi, president of the Teatro stable del Friuli Venezia Giulia. “After the operations that have been carried out in recent times, we are truly at the center of international interest in the world of musicals: spectators coming from 70 countries for “The Phantom of the opera “and now this announcement of this huge operation of “Les miserables” in collaboration with Milan, in this Trieste-Milan axis, with the world premiere in Trieste, the national premiere, in a path that is leading us to have great satisfactions” .
