The City Council of Trieste gave green light to breastfeeding in the chamber rooms where the council commissions are held.

The mothers and fathers will therefore be able to take care of their children during their working hours, upon request to the president of the municipal council.

Precisely at the request of the councilor for education and family policies, Nicole Matteoni, this verification process had begun, aimed at understanding if there were obstacles on this front which received a favorable technical opinion from the offices.

“I thank the offices – comments Councilor Matteoni – who made themselves available to clarify the particular case of allowing breastfeeding during the meetings of the council and municipal commissions, like what happens in other institutional offices. I am happy that the mothers and fathers counselors will be able to take care of their children in a particular moment of their life such as that of breastfeeding, natural or artificial feeding.”

“Commitment to institutional activity – declares the president of the City Council Francesco Panteca – must not deprive children of having the necessary care from their parents who are also involved in the numerous institutional activities. It’s a small sign, but certainly a very important one.”
