Trieste Cinema Hosts Oscar Marathon with Live Awards Broadcast

Cinema Ariston continues its three-day Oscar celebration on Saturday, March 14, with a live edition of the film podcast Blow Out at 5:30 p.m., featuring a “tournament” to select the best Oscar-winning film of the past 25 years. Screenings this evening include Marty Supreme (Josh Safdie, USA) with Timothée Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow, followed by Bugonia(Yorgos Lanthimos, UK) starring Emma Stone.

Sunday’s program, March 15th, features Sentimental Value (Joachim Trier) at 11 a.m., followed by Train DreamsSirāt, and One Battle After Another (Paul Thomas Anderson) with Leonardo DiCaprio, Benicio del Toro, and Sean Penn.

The highlight of the weekend is the live streaming of the 2026 Academy Awards at 10 p.m on Sunday, March 15. Audience members can watch the ceremony on the big screen while participating in pre-show discussions, quizzes, and talks led by cinephiles from La Cappella Underground. The theater offers a red carpet setup and replica Oscar statuettes to capture the full awards-night experience.

Tickets for single screenings cost €6, with a five-film pass available for €20. The live streaming on Sunday is completely free and open to everyone.
