The City of Trieste has launched a renewed educational offering across its network of Civic Museums, aimed at schools of all levels, from preschool to upper secondary education. The initiative is designed to support classroom learning while encouraging students to engage directly with the city’s rich historical, artistic, and scientific heritage.

The program is the result of a collaboration between the Municipality of Trieste and CoopCulture, which manages educational services for the city’s historical, artistic, and scientific museums. Together, they have developed a wide-ranging catalogue of guided tours, workshops, and hands-on activities intended to complement school curricula and adapt to different age groups and learning objectives.

Municipal officials describe the initiative as a concrete opportunity for teachers and students alike, promoting active and participatory learning. The program reinforces the role of museums not only as spaces for conservation and display, but also as centers for education, discovery, and critical thinking.

Educational visits and workshops are available at several of Trieste’s major cultural institutions. Full details for each museum can be consulted online:

Activities can be booked through a dedicated call center, available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at +39 040 9892032, or by email at museicivici.trieste@coopculture.it.
