This sunny October weekend, Trieste’s streets brimmed with international visitors from Hungary, Germany, Austria — and even the United States. Among them was an American traveler who decided to visit after frequenting a café in San Francisco called “Caffè Trieste.” “I loved the name and wanted to see the real place,” she said, smiling by the waterfront.
