The Museo Sartorio will feature the Duo Viridian, violinist Sofia De Martis and pianist Matteo Di Bella, on Sunday, October 26, as part of the “Winners Super Green” series, a four-weekend concert program highlighting emerging chamber music talent. The series is organized by artistic director Fedra Florit in collaboration with the Comune di Trieste, ZKB Banca, and the Fondazione-SKLAD Libero Zoran Poljaz.

Formed in 2023, the Duo Viridian has quickly gained recognition through performances in Trieste, Monfalcone, and Sacile, as well as accolades in international competitions. In 2024, the ensemble won the top prize at both the Concorso Internazionale “Prospettive Musicali” in Padova and the Concorso Internazionale Città di Palmanova in the chamber music category, achieving near-perfect scores in both competitions.

The upcoming concert, scheduled for 5 p.m., will present a program titled “From Classicism to Romanticism.” The recital opens with Robert Schumann’s Sonata in A minor, Op. 105, noted for its blend of classical form and lyrical-melodic expression, and continues with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Sonata in C minor, Op. 30, No. 2, which foreshadows the composer’s later stylistic developments while balancing lyricism and dynamic intensity. Tickets are available through TicketPoint Trieste, with further details at acmtrioditrieste.it.

Sofia De Martis began studying the violin at age seven and graduated from the Conservatorio di Musica Giuseppe Tartini in Trieste in 2025. She has received multiple top prizes in international competitions, including the Todi Città del Violino competition, which awarded her the loan of a historic 1780 Giuseppe Odoardi violin. Her performances as a soloist include appearances with the Orchestra del Teatro Lirico Verdi di Trieste and other regional orchestras, and she has participated in the Festival Internazionale di Musica di Portogruaro.

Matteo Di Bella started piano studies at age four and trained at the Conservatorio Jacopo Tomadini in Udine. He has earned numerous first prizes in national and international competitions and co-founded the piano duo En Blanc Et Noir in 2017, exploring contemporary repertoire and projects combining music with live electronics. Di Bella has performed across Italy and Europe, including at the Teatro Verdi and Politeama Rossetti in Trieste, and has recorded Beethoven’s Sixth Symphony for eight hands with Kawai Milano. He completed advanced studies in piano and chamber music at the Conservatorio G. Tartini in Trieste.
