The regional government of Friuli Venezia Giulia has introduced a €146 million (approximately $158 million) funding package aimed at bolstering key sectors such as manufacturing, tourism, and small businesses, according to a presentation made by the Regional Councilor for Productive Activities and Tourism before the Regional Council’s Second Commission.

The proposal, part of the upcoming budget adjustment bill, is structured around two main strategic pillars. The first is the “FVG Manufacturing Agenda 2030,” which outlines support measures including €40 million in subsidized credit through the regional development fund (Frie), €6.8 million for the artisan sector, and €7.2 million earmarked for photovoltaic system installations in businesses.

The second pillar focuses on tourism and commerce, guided by the region’s newly unified regulatory framework. Planned allocations include €7 million in additional resources for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in the service sector, €5 million for a new funding call supporting the establishment of four-star (or higher) hotels, and investments in tourism-related infrastructure.

The Councilor emphasized that the approach seeks to balance immediate economic support with longer-term sustainability and competitiveness, particularly in light of energy transition goals and ongoing shifts in the tourism market. The bill will now proceed to further discussion and refinement within the legislative process.
