The Costa Deliziosa is set to embark on another round-the-world voyage this fall, continuing a tradition that has positioned the northeastern Italian port city of Trieste as a recurring gateway for global cruise travel.
Departing on November 21, the cruise liner will carry passengers on a four-month journey spanning multiple continents. The itinerary begins in the Mediterranean and moves through Casablanca and the Canary Islands before crossing the Atlantic to the Caribbean and South America. From there, the route continues across the Pacific Ocean, with stops at Easter Island, the Fiji Islands, and Australia, before turning north toward Japan, Vietnam, and Singapore. On the return leg, the ship will visit the Maldives, Mauritius, South Africa, and Cape Verde.
The voyage reflects a growing demand for long-duration cruises that offer travelers an immersive and comprehensive exploration of distant destinations. In April 2025, nearly 2,000 passengers disembarked in Trieste after completing a similar journey that began in December 2024. That trip included sightings of marine life, such as whales, and stops in both major cities and remote coastal areas.
Looking ahead, Costa Cruises has confirmed that a similar itinerary will be offered again in 2027, with Costa Deliziosaonce more departing from Trieste. The future route is expected to include new destinations, such as Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas.
The repeated selection of Trieste as a departure point highlights the port’s strategic significance and its growing prominence in the global cruise industry, particularly for world-spanning itineraries that appeal to international travelers seeking extended sea voyages.
