The City of Trieste’s Department of Territory, Environment, Public Works, and Heritage has announced the launch of a new roadworks project set to begin on the night of Monday, July 7. The initiative, listed under project code CO 22096 in the municipality’s Three-Year Public Works Plan, involves extraordinary maintenance on several key roadways throughout the city.
The first phase of the operation will focus on resurfacing Via di Servola, specifically the entrance and exit ramps connecting to the Grande Viabilità Triestina (GVT). This portion of the work is expected to last approximately four nights, weather permitting. During this period, the road will be closed to vehicular traffic from 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
Following this, crews will move on to other targeted segments:
- Via Valmaura: The section beneath the GVT access ramp will undergo asphalt resurfacing over five nights, with nighttime closures from 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., contingent on weather conditions.
- Via Molino a Vento: Repairs will be carried out on the stretch between Via Castaldi and Via del Rivo, also expected to last five nights with the same nighttime closure schedule.
- Campo San Giacomo: The segment between Via dell’Industria and Via Ponziana will be resurfaced under similar conditions.
The city emphasized that the work schedule may be adjusted in the event of adverse weather, and that efforts will be made to minimize disruptions to residents and nighttime traffic.
