Regional authorities in Friuli Venezia Giulia have begun disbursing emergency aid to residents affected by severe weather that struck the region on Nov. 16 and 17, 2025, launching the first phase of compensation for damaged homes and vehicles.
A decree signed this week by the regional Civil Protection department authorizes €245,000 in payments to an initial group of 22 beneficiaries living in municipalities hit by the storms. The funds are part of a broader package of regional relief measures aimed at addressing damage caused by heavy rainfall and extreme weather.
The assistance covers several categories, including contributions for the repair of residential buildings damaged in essential structural elements and systems. Financial support is also available for families whose primary residences were destroyed, declared uninhabitable, or evacuated, allowing for independent temporary housing arrangements. Additional aid has been предусмотрed for the repair or replacement of essential household furnishings.
The decree also includes compensation for damaged vehicles, reflecting the role of personal transportation in enabling residents to return to normal daily activities, particularly in affected areas.
Applications for assistance opened in the first week of December. The review process has involved coordination between the regional Civil Protection agency and local municipalities, including administrative assessments and on-site inspections to verify reported damage.
Regional officials described the current disbursement as the first step in a longer recovery process. Further aid measures are expected as assessments continue, with the stated aim of supporting communities until conditions return to normal.
