The Ubik bookstore in the Galleria del Tergesteo is closing its month long series of children’s workshops this Sunday, November 30, with an event that invites young participants to create a book of their own. The program, part of the November initiative “Giocoleggiamo?” (“Play and Read?”), has drawn families each week for hands-on activities aimed at introducing children to the world of art and storytelling.

On Sunday, Nov. 30, at 4:30 p.m., the illustrator and artist Hannah Sanguinetti will lead “Fabbrica un libro con le tue mani” (“Make a Book With Your Own Hands”). Sanguinetti, known for her handcrafted dolls, paintings and sketchbooks, works with a variety of materials — including paper, fabric, wool and buttons — to create whimsical, tactile pieces. During the workshop, she will guide children through simple techniques to assemble a small, personalized book.

Ubik’s organizers say the event is designed for children aged 6 and older and emphasizes creativity over technical skill. Admission is free, though the bookstore encourages families to reserve a spot in advance due to limited space.

The workshop concludes the November series, which has highlighted interactive ways for children to engage with literature inside one of Trieste’s historic commercial galleries. Ubik is located in Piazza della Borsa 15, and the store can be reached at 040 762 947.
