Air travellers in Italy are likely to face disruptions on Friday, November 14, as employees of two airlines, easyJet and Volotea, stage separate strikes.

Volotea pilots and cabin crew have announced a 24-hour strike, while Italy-based easyJet staff are expected to walk out from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Volotea strike, organized by the UILT-UIL union, comes amid allegations that the airline has not addressed employee concerns. The easyJet action, called by the USB Lavoro Privato union, aims to push for more stable contracts and improved working conditions.

Passengers flying with either carrier are advised to contact their airline, tour operator, or travel agent for updates on their flights. Italy’s civil aviation authority, ENAC, has stated that flights scheduled between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m., and 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., are guaranteed during strikes.

Public transport will also be affected. Udine will see a six-hour walkout affecting local public transport from 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Authorities recommend that travelers check official sources, including the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport website, for the latest information.
