Tom Zelenovic, the newly appointed president of Triestina Calcio, addressed the media Wednesday morning at the Stadio Rocco, emphasizing his commitment to building a stable future for the club through action rather than words.

“I want to earn the trust of the fans not with promises, but with results,” Zelenovic said. “I make no promises except to work hard and to give my maximum effort professionally. But I can guarantee a stable future for the club.”

Zelenovic provided few details about himself, stating only that his primary goal is the reconstruction of the club. “Who am I? The important thing is the shared objective of rebuilding this club, and that is why I am here,” he said.

Addressing financial concerns, Zelenovic reassured supporters that payments will be made on schedule. “The nature of the investment is solid, with clear guarantees,” he said. “The focus is long-term. There is no doubt that funds already invested and those to come will align with the club’s objectives and planned investment, ensuring a stable future.”

Regarding the roles of Alex Menta and Sebastiano Stella, Zelenovic declined to provide specifics. “Positions and responsibilities will be assigned to those best suited for them, ensuring professionalism and commitment,” he said, adding that past shortcomings were not due to a lack of competence or relationships.

Zelenovic also acknowledged the importance of the club’s supporters. “I respect and appreciate their passion, their opinions, and their judgments,” he said. “We will make responsible decisions, and I hope this will be clear and perceptible to the fans.”

When asked about the possibility of relegation to Serie D, Zelenovic remained cautious but committed. “We hope not, but if it happens, it will not affect the presence of the new board or the significance of the investment.”
