Trenitalia, in collaboration with the Friuli Venezia Giulia regional government, will operate 31 special trains to support the 31st edition of Friuli DOC, the annual festival celebrating the region’s culinary and artisanal traditions. The trains will run from Friday, September 12, through Sunday, September 14, providing a total of 50,000 seats.
The additional services will reinforce connections between Udine and nearby cities, including Trieste, Gorizia, Sacile, Pordenone, Gemona, and the Carnia area, making travel to the festival more accessible.
Friuli DOC offers visitors the opportunity to explore the region’s history, culture, and gastronomy through music, craft workshops, tastings, and activities for all ages. The festival runs from September 11 to 14 in the center of Udine.
Trenitalia is also offering special fares to encourage attendance:
- Promo Weekend FVG: On Saturday, September 13, and Sunday, September 14, travelers can receive a 20 percent discount on tickets within the Friuli Venezia Giulia regional fare limits for both regular and special regional trains.
- 1+1 Under 12 FVG: Children under 12 traveling with a paying adult over 26 may travel for free on September 12–14, within the regional fare limits, for journeys starting or ending in Udine.
