Five content creators from China, joined by an Italian influencer based in Shanghai, arrived in Friuli Venezia Giulia on Monday for a week-long tour of the northeastern Italian region. Over the next seven days, the group will document the region’s landscapes, culture, and culinary offerings through their digital channels, from the mountains to the Adriatic coast.

The itinerary includes visits to historic cities and UNESCO World Heritage sites, artisanal workshops, and design studios, highlighting the region’s cultural and creative industries. Trieste, with landmarks such as Miramare Castle and the Teatro Verdi, was the first stop, followed by Aquileia and Cividale del Friuli, towns rich in history. The group also explored the Marano Lagoon and its traditional casoni huts, as well as villages including Venzone, San Daniele del Friuli, and Spilimbergo, known for its mosaics. The tour will continue to the Natisone Valleys, the Collio and Colli Orientali wine regions, and the alpine areas around Tarvisio, Fusine Lakes, and Monte Lussari.
In Udine, the visitors experienced the region’s art and gastronomy, including the Tiepolo ceilings at the Diocesan Museum Galleries and a dinner at Friuli Doc, a local food festival. Activities also include sampling traditional regional dishes, cycling along the Alpe Adria Trail, and participating in the preparation of gubana, a traditional Friulian pastry.
The influencers—Alessandro Martini, Fiona, Jay, Seafree, and Arial—focus on lifestyle, food, travel, culture, design, and architecture. Some will visit furniture and woodworking companies in collaboration with the Cluster Legno Arredo Casa FVG, showcasing local excellence in design and craftsmanship.
The initiative, organized by PromoTurismoFVG, is part of a broader effort to promote Friuli Venezia Giulia internationally. The Chinese market is considered strategically important, and collaborations with influencers, travel bloggers, and other key opinion leaders help build awareness and interest in the region among Chinese audiences through social media platforms including Rednot, Weibo, Douyin, Ctrip, WeChat, and Dianping.
