The town of Muggia will once again celebrate its vibrant Carnevale Estivo, or Summer Carnival, from August 8 to 15 in Piazzale Caliterna. The event will feature a mix of food, music, and entertainment, as well as traditional activities that have become staples of the celebration.

Starting each evening at 6:30 p.m., food and wine kiosks will offer local specialties, followed by live performances beginning at 9 p.m. Among the highlights are two recurring events: the Carneval Run, a themed race, and the VogadaMata, a spirited rowing competition.

“Music, kiosks, performances, and animation, along with a number of established events, are once again the key elements of this year’s Summer Carnival,” said Nicola Delconte, Muggia’s Deputy Mayor and the official in charge of Carnival. “It’s a long-standing tradition that brings the city to life every August. The packed program is designed to engage the entire community while also attracting tourists. A special thanks goes to the work of the Carnival associations.”

Dario Grison, president of Muggia’s Carnival associations, noted the effort that went into curating a wide-ranging musical lineup. “We aimed to create a calendar with something for everyone,” he said. “I’m grateful to all those who worked so hard to make this event possible.”

The Carnevale Estivo is a summer spin-off of Muggia’s famed winter carnival, offering residents and visitors alike a chance to experience the town’s festive spirit in the warmth of the Adriatic summer.
