The City of Trieste has inaugurated a new public breastfeeding space located on the first floor of the Public Registry Building at Passo Costanzi 2. The facility, offered free of charge, is part of a broader initiative to make public services more accessible and family-friendly.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Thursday morning and was attended by Municipal Councillor for Real Estate Policies, Elisa Lodi, Member of Parliament Nicole Matteoni, and Regional Councillor Claudio Giacomelli.
Also present on behalf of the Municipality were Giulio Bernetti, Director of the Department of Territory, Environment, Public Works and Assets, along with municipal employees Monica Goina, Michela Crevatin, Rossella Diviacco, and Andyola Pacaj. The staff members, each from different municipal departments, collaborated in the creation and setup of the new space.
“Trieste is a city designed to support mothers and working women,” said Councillor Lodi during her remarks at the event. The initiative is part of a wider effort by the municipality to improve infrastructure and services that support parenting and work-life balance in the city.
The breastfeeding point adds to a growing list of public amenities aimed at enhancing the daily life of families and underlines the city’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.
