Trieste is offering more than just sea breezes and sunset strolls this weekend. From July 18 to 21, the “Trieste Estate” festival continues to animate the city’s historic heart with a vibrant program of open-air concerts and theatrical performances—free to the public and full of international flair.

On Friday, July 18, at 9:00 p.m., Piazza Verdi will transform into a stage for one of the summer’s most anticipated concerts: Lori Williams and her Band, presented as part of the TriesteLovesJazz festival. Known for her remarkable versatility, vocal finesse, and magnetic stage presence, Williams has built a career blending jazz, soul, and gospel with rare emotional clarity. A seasoned performer, educator, and composer, she brings both warmth and sophistication to every note.

Joining her onstage is a powerhouse ensemble featuring Bernhard Wiesinger, a lyrical saxophonist with a modern touch, and Christian Havel, one of Europe’s premier jazz guitarists. Anchoring the rhythm section are Renato Chicco, a Slovenian pianist with deep roots in New York’s jazz scene, along with Joris Dudli on drums and Milan Nikolic on bass. Together, they promise a performance that bridges continents and genres, infusing the seaside air with global grooves and improvisational brilliance.
