Interview: FVG governor, Massimiliano Fedriga
British pop star Robbie Williams will perform in Trieste on Thursday, July 17, as part of his “Britpop Tour – Robbie Williams Live in 2025.” The concert, held at the Nereo Rocco municipal stadium, is the singer’s only Italian tour date and is expected to draw thousands of fans from across the country and abroad.
To accommodate the anticipated crowds and reduce pressure on city roads, local authorities have announced a dedicated transportation plan. Three park-and-ride locations have been designated for the event: Saba Silos in Piazza Libertà, the Montedoro Shopping Center in Muggia, and the Eurospar parking lot on Via dell’Istria.
Shuttle buses will run between these lots and the stadium beginning at 3:00 p.m. on the day of the concert and will continue operating until the end of the event. Routes include stops at major intersections such as Piazza Goldoni and Via Flavia to help streamline access for attendees.
The initiative is part of broader efforts by regional and city officials to support large-scale events while maintaining urban mobility. In a statement ahead of the concert, Friuli Venezia Giulia Governor Massimiliano Fedriga emphasized the importance of such events for the region.
“Well, it’s an event that’s truly capturing global attention,” Fedriga said. “I know people coming from all over the world to see Robbie Williams’ only Italian show in Friuli Venezia Giulia, in Trieste. This year, with Go25, we’ve had a series of major events that have really caught everyone’s eye. Take Cirque du Soleil in Trieste, for instance. People came from everywhere to see it, with an incredible audience turnout. I think we’ve matched Rome’s numbers here in Trieste. Friuli Venezia Giulia is increasingly becoming a hotspot for major events, satisfying both attendees and organizers alike.”
The city of Trieste and regional authorities have made clear that the goal is not only to host world-class performances but also to ensure safety, accessibility, and a smooth experience for visitors. Additional updates regarding traffic patterns, security measures, and final transport schedules are expected to be released in the days leading up to the event.
