A summer dining series that pairs the flavors of northeastern Italy with the backdrop of the Adriatic Sea is set to return to Lignano Sabbiadoro this July. Beginning July 4 and continuing through August 29, “Un mare di sapori” (“A Sea of Flavors”) will offer eight evenings of open-air dinners and aperitifs on the beach, designed to highlight the culinary traditions and regional products of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Organized by PromoTurismoFVG, the initiative showcases the ingredients and producers affiliated with the “Io sono Friuli Venezia Giulia” label, a collective brand that promotes the region’s food and wine excellence. Each evening will feature a unique menu crafted around local specialties, with producers and winemakers on hand to share the stories behind their ingredients.
Set against the natural setting of sand and surf, the events are intended to offer not just a meal, but a multisensory experience rooted in tradition, creativity, and sustainability. With a focus on the meeting point between land and sea, the menus will emphasize regional pairings and seasonal products, celebrating the area’s rich agricultural and gastronomic heritage.
The series kicks off on Friday, July 4, with further events scheduled throughout the summer until the final dinner on August 29. Each evening promises an intimate look at the region’s culinary identity—served, quite literally, at the water’s edge.
