A 24-hour general strike has been called for Friday, June 20, by the national trade union USB (Unione Sindacale di Base), with the union’s regional office confirming its participation. The strike is expected to affect local public transportation services across the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, including the city of Trieste.
The walkout will involve both frontline transport staff and technical and administrative personnel. As a result, disruptions in service and delays at public service counters may occur throughout the day.
Despite the strike, essential connections will be guaranteed during two time windows: from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in accordance with regulations ensuring minimum service levels during industrial action.
Authorities advise passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and check for updates from local transit providers.
