FVG’s president Massimiliano Fedriga says goal is to avert entering the red zone while the numbers continue to rise in our region.
Fedriga stated that his government is doing all that it can to tackle the second wave of the virus while trying to avert entering the red zone.
“The contagion numbers in our region continue to rise. Even though our regions’ health care system is better than in other places, the virus continues to spread quickly. If it continues this way, we will not be entering the orange zone but directly the red one.” said Fedriga in his recent interview with Raitre‘s Cartabianca.
Last week the Italian government introduced a three-tier system, based on a color code according to the intensity of the epidemic, dividing Italy into red (high-risk), orange (medium risk) and yellow (lower risk) zones, with “soft lockdowns” in the red zones.
“This past weekend we saw crowds gather in the center and along the coast line. This should not be happening and this worries us. On Friday a new decree will be out that will limit the future gatherings. Our goal, however, is also to protect the economic activities during these difficult times.”
