FVG’s governor Massimiliano Fedriga signed a new decree on Sunday that will have validity until June 3d.

This is the fourteenth decree since the beginning of lockdown that the people of Friuli Venezia Giulia have yet to understand. One thing’s certain: this decree allows more freedom of movement than any before.

  • You are now allowed to move freely within Friuli Venezia Giulia.
  • You are not allowed to move from one region to another until June 3. Exceptions include: work or health reasons, or to reach your residence. For people living on the border with Veneto region, the movement is justified when visiting a relative (living in Veneto).
  • All commercial activities are allowed to restart as long as they follow the safety protocols valid for owners, employees and customers.
  • Religious functions are allowed to restart following the safety protocols.
  • No public gatherings and 1 meter distance are still a must.
  • You have to wear a mask at all times when in public places. You don’t need to wear a mask when driving your car or scooter, if you are under 6 years old or have disabilities that prevent you from wearing it.
  • Shops can remain open on Sundays.
  • Driving schools, language schools, music schools, summer camps and gyms are allowed to reopen following the safety protocols.
  • Museums, libraries, pools, gyms are allowed to reopen following the safety protocols.

Businesses will almost universally be reopening under restrictions, such as allowing fewer customers, requiring workers and customers to wear masks, and enforcing social distancing.

The government can intervene and enforce tougher restrictions if there’s an increase in contagion following the restriction of the rules. It remains too early for the official data to confirm whether the infection rate continued to drop following the easing of some restrictions on May 4.
