The city of Trieste has released an updated schedule for its “Pasqua nei Musei” initiative, a series of activities and guided visits designed for children, families, and visitors of all ages. Organized in collaboration with CoopCulture, the program invites the public to explore museums, green spaces, and some of the city’s most symbolic sites through interactive and educational experiences.

Originally planned to span several days, the program has been condensed following the cancellation of events scheduled for April 2 and 3 at the Natural History Museum and the Sea Museum. Activities will now take place on Saturday, April 4, and Monday, April 6, with a renewed focus on outdoor experiences and family-oriented programming.

At the city’s Botanical Garden, a guided walk titled Benvenuta Primavera! will mark the seasonal reopening of the site. The tour offers an introduction to the garden’s history, scientific role, and evolution over time, while highlighting the early signs of spring. The 11 a.m. session quickly reached capacity, prompting organizers to add an additional time slot at 10 a.m. to meet demand.

Later that afternoon, families can take part in La Natura a colori, an interactive visit structured as a game. Participants are encouraged to observe the gradual reawakening of plant life, following clues and activities designed to illustrate the rhythms and cycles of nature.

On Monday, April 6, the program shifts to the Castello di San Giusto, where children between the ages of 6 and 11 can join Alla conquista del Castello, a treasure hunt that combines historical storytelling with problem-solving challenges. Guided by museum educators, the activity is designed to foster curiosity, observation, and teamwork.

Events at the Botanical Garden will take place outdoors and may be rescheduled in the event of bad weather.

The initiative reflects a broader effort by the city to make cultural spaces more accessible and engaging, particularly during holiday periods, by blending education with recreation in settings that highlight both Trieste’s natural and historical heritage.
