Guided tours of the former Nazi concentration camp at the Risiera di San Sabba will continue next weekend, offering visitors a structured opportunity to learn about one of the most significant sites of memory in northeastern Italy.

The tours, led by specialized museum guides, will take place on Saturday, March 14, at 3:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 15, at 11 a.m. Conducted in Italian, the visits lead participants through the monument’s main spaces while explaining the historical role and meaning of the complex, encouraging reflection on the events connected to the site.

Located in the city of Trieste, the Risiera di San Sabba was used by the Nazis during World War II as a detention and police camp and remains the only concentration camp on Italian soil equipped with a crematorium. Today it serves as a national monument and museum dedicated to remembrance.

Tickets cost €7 per person and must be purchased online through CoopCulture, the organization that manages visitor services at the site in collaboration with the Comune di Trieste and CoopCulture. Reservations remain open until 15 minutes after the start of each tour, subject to availability.

The guided tours are part of a broader program scheduled to continue through May 3, with limited spaces available for each session. Organizers say the initiative aims to deepen public understanding of the site’s history while preserving its role as a place of memory.
