Public Gardens in Trieste to Close on Sunday as Severe Weather Is Forecast

The City of Trieste announced that several public gardens and outdoor facilities will be closed beginning Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026, because of forecasts of adverse weather conditions.

The closures will remain in effect until weather conditions improve, municipal officials said.

Among the sites affected are the Giardino pubblico “de Tommasini” on Via Giulia; the “Falcone e Borsellino” Garden in Altura; Basevi Garden; the “Fra M. V. Antollovich” Garden on Via Carpineto; the “Wanda e Marion Wulz” Garden on Via Catullo; the “Fedora Barbieri” Garden on Via Mascagni; and the gardens along Via San Michele and Campagna Prandi.

Other closures include the Garden of Villa Cosulich on Strada del Friuli; the Garden of Villa Engelmann on Via Chiadino; Parco Bazzoni on Via Navali; the skate park on Via Petitti di Roreto; the garden in Piazza Hortis; the garden in Vicolo dell’Edera; the Maddalena Garden between Via Molino a Vento and Via Costalunga; and Villa Revoltella, including access to the church via the Curia.

The garden of Villa Sartorio on Via dei Modiano will remain accessible only to staff members carrying out work activities within the buildings.

City officials urged residents to follow updates from local authorities and to exercise caution during the period of unsettled weather.
