Interviews: FVG governor, Massimiliano Fedriga; FVG councilor for tourism, Sergio Bini; Tarvisio ski instructor, Caterina Molinari
Friuli Venezia Giulia officials on Tuesday launched a program to standardize uniforms for the region’s ski instructors and alpine guides, part of a broader effort to strengthen the region’s tourism identity under the Io Sono Fvg brand.`
The regional government has purchased 550 uniforms for ski instructors and around 80 for alpine guides, covering 75 percent of the €300,000 cost. Governor Massimiliano Fedriga described the initiative as a way to present a unified regional image and position mountain professionals as ambassadors of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Officials emphasized plans to expand tourism beyond the winter season, including wellness offerings, biking trails, and strategic ski pass pricing to benefit local accommodations. Early season figures show approximately 300,000 visitors to regional ski areas, with Zoncolan and Tarvisio among the most popular destinations.
