On Thursday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m., the Sala Luttazzi inside Magazzino 26 at Porto Vecchio–Porto Vivo will host a free holiday concert titled Aspettando il Natale in allegria (“Waiting for Christmas in Good Cheer”), part of the city’s seasonal program A Natale per le Feste, promoted and organized by the Municipality of Trieste.

Presented by the International Association of Operetta of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the concert offers a broad musical program that moves from Disney classics to Broadway standards, operetta and traditional Christmas songs. The performers include Andrea Binetti, Stefania Seculin, Marzia Postogna and Kevin Baliviera, accompanied on piano by Alessandra Sagelli.

The program is designed to appeal to audiences of all ages. Selections from well-known Disney films — including The Jungle BookBeauty and the BeastOne Hundred and One Dalmatians and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs — will be followed by a medley from Mary Poppins. The repertoire then shifts to famous musical theater works such as My Fair LadyCabaretWest Side StoryShow Boat and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

The concert also pays tribute to composer Paul Abraham, with excerpts from his operettas The Flower of Hawaii and Ball at the Savoy, before concluding with a selection of traditional Christmas melodies.

Curated by the social cooperative Cinquantacinque, the event reflects the city’s broader effort to animate the historic port area during the holiday season, offering accessible cultural programming in one of Trieste’s most emblematic spaces. Admission is free.
