On Saturday, December 13, the Civic Museum of Natural History in Trieste will offer a special guided tour exploring how animals adapt to winter. The event, led by museum curator Nicola Bressi, begins at 11 a.m. at the museum on Via dei Tominz, 4.
Visitors will move through the museum’s galleries to learn about the various strategies animals use to cope with the season’s challenges, including cold temperatures, shorter days, and scarce food. Some species migrate long distances, while others adjust their habitats or even undergo physical changes. Some hibernate deeply, while others remain surprisingly active.
“Winter is not necessarily the hardest season for all animals,” Bressi said, noting that the tour will highlight the diversity of adaptations that allow wildlife to survive and thrive during the colder months.
The activity is included with the regular museum admission. The museum is accessible via bus lines 11, 18, and 22.
