Authorities successfully completed the neutralization of a World War II-era bomb discovered in the Porto Nuovo area of Trieste on Saturday morning.
The operation, which began shortly after 7:45 a.m., involved the safe disarming and subsequent detonation at sea of the aerial bomb. The unexploded ordnance had been found during expansion work on the railway terminal near Porto Station, within the city’s port area.
The controlled explosion marked the conclusion of a coordinated effort involving bomb disposal experts, local law enforcement, and maritime authorities to ensure public safety.
