A delegation from Friuli Venezia Giulia has arrived in Washington, D.C., this week to strengthen economic and institutional relations with the United States and attract new investment to the region.
The mission is led by Governor Massimiliano Fedriga and Regional Councilor for Productive Activities and Tourism Sergio Emidio Bini. Over the coming days, the delegation will take part in a series of institutional meetings, networking sessions, and official events, including the 50th anniversary celebrations of the National Italian American Foundation.
Regional officials said the visit aims to build on years of growing collaboration with prominent American counterparts in politics, business, and culture. The trip forms part of a broader internationalization strategy that Friuli Venezia Giulia has been pursuing to strengthen its global presence and promote itself as a bridge between the United States and Central and Eastern Europe.
The delegation’s program includes events organized in cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy, which supports Italian businesses seeking to enter the U.S. market and assists American companies interested in investing in Europe.
In a complex global economic environment, Friuli Venezia Giulia’s leadership hopes to showcase the region’s appeal as a destination for business, innovation, and advanced technology. The mission seeks to highlight opportunities not only in traditional sectors such as manufacturing and tourism but also in emerging fields like digital development and research.
Officials described the visit as an opportunity to reaffirm the region’s role in fostering transatlantic cooperation and to strengthen long-standing ties with the Italian American community and U.S. institutions.
